With my husband, the love of my life for over 45 years, settling on our family farm. In this chapter we are getting ready for retirement on the homestead. Our children ready to start their own chapters here on the farm. God's grace and love always.
Hubby was behind the wheel of a snow plow, Veterans Day, night. Our first snow was pretty but is melting pretty fast. I haven’t figured out how it can be below 25 and melt. I’m not a great fan of ice cold. But I also know that I need to get out with it early so I can get use to it. So I brought out my trusty hat. Not many can rock this look, but you do what you need to do. Warmth is all I need, lol.
Everyone have a great night, this was short but sweet. God Bless!
We need rain, along with many other counties. I went to dig up my sweet taters. I can’t get them out even with a fork and shovel. The dirt won’t give. I was hoping a little rain would loosen them up. Come the weekend I will be out there with a bucket of water, lol.
Our daughter and her hubby are having a work day here over the weekend. They helped move hay out from the field to get ready for fence. We started feeding hay last week, due to the grass being so dry.
Because we hadn’t gotten any rain hubby had to feed the cows hay early.
We also had to put up electric fence to let the cows go into the hay field, to help feed so they wouldn’t need so much hay. Hubbys dad made this to make it easier to put up the wire.
By the end of the day we had the fence done, and the cows moved. It was a long day but we had fun.
It did rain on us a few days ago , and yesterday I got to did taters. I got a bushel and was very excited, first time I grew them. They look kind of funky but they taste good. I still have to go through these, but I’m proud of them, lol.
The weather has turned off cool, with it being in the low 30’s the past few days, We turned on Big Jake ( outdoor furnace) so we will be warm and toasty. Hope everyone has a wonderful day, God Bless.
